Bidding Prayers
The Church actively encourages us to make our own contribution to the liturgy of the Sunday Mass through the Prayers of Intercession or Bidding Prayers. During 2004 we invited parishioners to place their own prayers in the special box in the narthex, but strangely only one such prayer has been submitted! During 2005 we shall be asking each of the Parish Groups in turn to write the prayers for a month. The prayers are written to a framework and there is a helpful book available if you get stuck. These prayers are not direct appeals to the Lord, but are calls for all the assembled faithful to pray.
