The Handshake Club

The Handshake needs help! Can you spare a Saturday afternoon to go on a rota to play games, do puzzles, etc. at a community home for 8 ladies in Ashtead? Your help would only be required a few times during the year. Please contact Maureen Schumacher (via the Parish Office) for further details.

Route Call

Route Call (or Dial-a-Ride) is a local transport service for residents in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell who are:

aged 60 and over
or
have difficulty in using public transport
or
are mobility impaired
The service operates Monday to Friday between 8.45am and 4.45pm. It is a door-to-door service taking you wherever you need to go within the Borough. Some parishioners already use it to come to weekday Mass. They operate 8 vehicles, most adapted for wheelchair passengers. There is a membership form (available from the Parish Office) which should be completed and returned to the Route Call office at Epsom Town Hall. The telephone booking lines are open between the hours of 8.30am and 1.00pm and payment is made to the driver. Fuller details are available from the Parish Office.

If you plan to come to a weekday Mass, why not consider offering a lift to someone who would welcome the opportunity to get to weekday Mass and who would otherwise not be able to come. (extract from Newsletter 2001)
