About the Group
Two of our parishioners have, for over 5 years, been Co-ordinators of the Marriage and Family Life Special Interest Group. As well as involvement in the 9.30am Children's Liturgy and liaison with other members of the SIG such as the Marriage Preparation team, they have organised special family activities, eg. the Annual Valentine's Disco, the rounders matches and rambles on the common. They have also run courses for parishioners in parenting.
Here they write about the things they have got most out of convening this SIG:
- Working with others, to help families from a range of backgrounds to feel more part of the parish.
- Pleasure in the enjoyment of others in the activities which we co-ordinate.
- Introducing people to Epsom Common, through the annual ramble.
