Infant Baptism- Wanting the best for your childInfant Baptism takes place on the fourth Sunday of each month in the afternoon at joint family celebrations. Parents are required to attend a preparation course, consisting of 3 sessions on consecutive Monday evenings at 8.00pm and a Rite of Welcome at our Family 09.30am Sunday Mass. These sessions are led by qualified catechists and a member of the Parish Clergy. Parents who have been out of touch for a while are most welcome to meet with a member of our own parish team and mutually agree the best way forward. Baptism of older Children (5-7 years old)Separate preparation for these children and their parents is available. (Contact the Parish Office for information about the Rite of Initiation for children of catechetical age.) Adult BaptismBaptism for adults involves at least a year of enquiry and instruction in the Faith of the Church. This is covered in the RCIA programme. (Details are available from the Parish Office.) |
