12 Station Back

12th Station

The Stations of the Cross are from the old church. They were re-furbished and then re-hung in the new church.

There are fourteen in all and they depict the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. Nine are based on Scripture and five on popular tradition. They are used as an aid to meditative prayer, either private or communal. It is a practice thought to have arisen from the early times of pilgrims to Jerusalem following the 'Way of the Cross' (NDLW).
