3. Action plans for medium and long term objectives

A. Formalised links Parish Groups & PPC.

During discussions it was noted that several groups already either had members of the PPC as co-ordinators, and therefore regular feedback had taken place since the PPC had been formed.

David Walsh to approach two groups (Community Care and Justice and Peace) in first instance with a view to offering these groups the opportunity to meet with PPC to provide information on activities and seek & receive support with initiatives.

B. A&B News / The Winning Post

Both publications considered valuable means of demonstrating Parish life by means of newsworthy entries.

A&B News. Existing Monthly publication. External circulation.

Opportunity to record major events via reports by participants.

Proposal to request contributions from contact via Organiser.

The Winning Post. Proposed re-introduction of a Quarterly publication. Parish circulation.

Opportunity to record all events via reports by participants.

Opportunity to advertise forthcoming events including regular parish life [e.g. Pooh Corner]. May offer an opportunity for parishioners to advertise local services.

The PPC consider this work could be very rewarding with a team approach, allowing volunteers to be co-coordinators and [more so for The Winning Post] editors rather than reporters / correspondents. Feedback on previous experience to be sought from David Morrel & Dennis Wood.

PPC decided to make a decision on forming a group to take this role at the next meeting.

C. Speakers at St. Josephs

Ongoing item. PPC requested to assist in identifying major Catholic and Christian speakers to invite to speak to the Parish. Issues such a suitable topics, suitable audience, duration, remuneration etc. TBA.
