Minutes of the Twenty Seventh Parish Pastoral Council
Held on Thursday 19th May at 7.30pm

2. Matters Arising from Last Meeting
Fire Safety/Security – The Premises Group have discussed and emphasised the need for all fire exits to be open whilst services, or public events, are taking place in the Church.
SA Project – No news from Fr Yarrick – ongoing
Risk Assessment – Premises Committee to discuss and report back at forthcoming meeting regards the safety aspects of the baptismal font.
Community Care Group - David Walsh has spoken to Mary Liska from the Community Care Group who is happy to come along to next meeting – David to follow up and also see if there is anyone else we should be inviting from the Community Care Group.
Justice and Peace – Kathy Maskens has agreed to speak to the PPC at a future meeting, date to be agreed.
B. A&B News / The Winning Post
David Morrell is happy to get involved in the new "Winning Post" type leaflet, which will reflect Parish Life. First publication date end September, possibly to be published quarterly.
Advert for forthcoming "Concerts in Churches" will be advertised in the A&B News, as well as on the website and the Parish Newsletter.
Ongoing item, David Walsh will be contacting the Bishop and also the possibility of Brother Christopher from Worth Abbey.
Michelle Grasty has offered to co-ordinate this new initiative.
PPC reviewed list of ideas that had been ranked, by those that had attended the recent Welcome meeting, John Sharpe to group ideas for further development.
David and John to liaise with Michelle to develop a strategy and programme for the development of the Welcome ministry.
David Walsh to talk to Fr Bill to finalise date of meeting, possibly 3rd July after 6.00 p.m. Mass, as there is a major School event on St Peter and Paul’s (29th June)
Agenda for the meeting?
Finance - The Parish Pastoral Council would like to thank the Finance Group, particularly; David Carpenter, John Flood, Teddy Totman for all their efforts in achieving the long awaited move of the Priests’ House, so that they are near the Church and Parish School.
Justice & Peace – The group are very motivated at present particularly with the "Make Poverty History" campaign. The group have now purchased a banner for the campaign. Kathy is happy to come and talk at one of the forthcoming meetings.
Premises – If anyone has any ideas with regards to the new bell at the back of the Church please pass them onto the Premises team.
The team are looking for volunteer car park stewards for the forthcoming concerts. If anyone is interested please contact Carlos de Souza, or the Parish Office.
Sacramental – The Confirmation service went very well and was a beautiful service. Both Holy Communion Services have now taken place. There were some car parking issues at both events, and Chris Sibthorp will raise these with Fr. Bill.
