Minutes of the Twenty Ninth Parish Pastoral Council
Held on Wednesday 20th July at 7.30pm

2. Matters Arising from Last Meeting
Fire Safety/Security – Fire alarm test required. Other safety checks to be considered
SA Project – Ongoing see further in the minutes
Risk Assessment – Premises Committee to discuss and report back regards the safety aspects of the baptismal font - ongoing.
The PPC discussed a range of ideas generated by Mary Liska presentation.
Settling on a focused set of actions was considered appropriate at the September PPC when a fuller discussion should be had and further research may have been undertaken.
4. Action Plans for medium and long term objectives
Justice and Peace – Kathy Maskens has agreed to speak to the October PPC.
B. A&B News / The Winning Post
"Winning Post" – Volunteers have come forward and it is hoped a first publication date around the end of September may be possible.
"Concerts in Churches" Fourth event cancelled, 3rd event scheduled for the end of August. Additional advertising was thought might be a good idea.
C. Speakers at St. Josephs
Ongoing item, to be discussed at the next meeting
Sign up forms issued and an excellent 58 responses received.
Michelle Grasty to co-ordinate with target launch in September.
A help & guidance programme for volunteers considered a good idea.
Intention is to advise parishioners of the launch for the benefit of all.
David & John to meet with Michelle to assist in launch.
Input during and feedback after was good.
A variety of issues were raised and subjects around the agenda discussed
Youth & Landings presentation particularly well received.
A list of local masses on holy days of obligation was considered by the PPC.
Fr.Yarrick to visit St Josephs in the near future.
David to meet and discuss PPC possible ideas and report back in September.

Very successful Youth Day at Aylesbury attended by 29 youth of the parish.
Links group – new post confirmation group to take off shortly.
Various other initiatives underway to involve this age group.
The PPC discussed various opportunities relating generally to communication within St Joseph’s church building. Topics discussed included Hymnbooks, Notice boards, Display boards and AV opportunities. Some issues were considered more immediate and possibly practical than others but it was considered reasonable to look at the present with a view on the future. To be further discussed next meeting. .

Sacramental – New intake of servers making 70 to 75 in all.
