Theresa offered the children to help at the 9.30am mass on 11th June. David Walsh is happy to do the Saturday mass. Any other offers should be directed to Michael Tripp. Kevin Rourke (via e-mail in his absence) Suggested that letting schedules need to be formalised to avoid any clashes with the childrens Liturgy Plus Group in the Hall on Sundays. There have been problems on the last two Sundays. David Walsh will pass these comments onto Simon Smallwood for review. With regards to social events, there are currently no plans to replace the successful Golf Day. Liam Kirby will provide Andrew Heffernan with a list of social events that was put together last year. Andrew will then pull together a timetable of existing events, so that the PPC can identify gaps that could be filled. 4. Other possible subjects to be covered at the meeting: Youth Work in the Parish Christine Sibthorp Welcome Ministry Speaker TBA 6. Parish Day Date set for 23rd September. Previously forms were sent out from the school and church to help estimate numbers attending the day/talks/supper. It was agreed to do this again. John Sharpe will provide forms as well as posters advertising the day. David Walsh will talk to John Turner regarding the music and liturgy for the Mass. David Thorn volunteered to be the liaison for the speakers. Christine Bailey and Michelle Grasty volunteered to organise the refreshments and the shared supper. David Walsh volunteered to be in charge of the outdoor activities. Volunteers are still required to organise the 4 groups for both activity sessions. So far Theresa Kenefick has volunteered her staff to organise the primary age group in the second session and Christine Sibthorp will organise the Youth groups. David will also talk to Jan Madden regarding her requirements for looking after the pre-school children. It is envisaged that these children will only be looked after whilst the parents are attending the talks. Parents will be required to collect their children after the talks to enable Jan and her staff to share in the day themselves. Andrew Heffernan volunteered to organise the setting up of the Hall. The tidying up at the end will be a communal effort !!! 7. Bishops Talk 12th June The date for this was moved at the Bishops request to the 3rd July. However this is the same day as the school play so David Walsh will rearrange. The talk will now take place after the summer holidays. The topic for this talk will be Media and the Catholic Church in the 21st Century. 8. Other Parish Groups Youth Group - The Deanery Youth Day will be held on 18th July. Christine Sibthorp has asked for assistance from other Deanery parishes.
