2. Matters Arising
- It was suggested that a reminder e-mail could be sent to all those volunteers who are in the first weeks of a new rota. This issue is ongoing. David Walsh will talk to John Turner.
- Fr. Bill’s Silver Jubilee celebrations were a huge success. Thanks to all who helped make it such a memorable occasion. Specials thanks go to John Flood, Christine Turner and Collette Totman for the huge amount of time and effort they put into making the night go so smoothly.
- Rosebery school development issue is ongoing.
- The Annual Parish Meeting was well attended with approximately 60 people present.
3. AOB
Patrizia Wakefield and Liam Kirby have resigned from the Parish Pastoral Council. Many thanks for their contribution to the PPC.
David Walsh will talk to Father Bill regarding their replacements for the rest of their term. It was suggested that it would be a good idea to try and get someone who would further represent our parish i.e. a member of the Italian or Philippino congregation.
4. Parish Day
Volunteers will remind parishioners to complete their registration forms at all masses this weekend to ascertain a ballpark number of attendees.
All speakers and events are organised.
The crèche will be run on a first come, first served basis. All children MUST be collected between the sessions.
One line descriptions of the talks will go into the newsletter and notices to better inform those attending and helping them make their choice.
Jacqui Rourke will look after the speakers.
John Sharpe is making the signs to help people find their way to the sessions.
John Turner and the school are organising the mass.
At the shared supper, people will be seated first and then be invited to go up to collect their food table by table.
All cutlery, plates, cups and napkins will be disposable apart from the wine glasses.
Andrew Heffernan will set up the hall on Friday with helpers. David Walsh will confirm with Andrew when he is able to access the hall on Friday.
Christine Bailey and Michelle Grasty will organise the refreshments.
1.45 Welcome refreshments – soft drinks only.
3.15 Tea, coffee and biscuits with soft drinks for the children.
4.30 Set out the Shared Supper.
5. Bishop’s Talk 18th September
The arrangements are all set for the Bishops Talk. It will commence at 8pm and wine and nibbles will be provided from 7.30 pm.
6. Social Events Calendar
Michael Brennan offered to take small numbers (approx 16) on walks around the Parish. He is potentially looking to do the first in November.
Andrew Heffernan is to present a strategy to take this forward for the next meeting.
7. Update on Welcome Ministry
Michelle Grasty is to send a reminder e-mail to John Sharpe regarding the welcome pack.
The new rota has gone out however the numbers are still dropping with no new volunteers to take their place.
Christine Turner is to confirm availability dates for Father Bill upon her return from holiday. The Welcomers meeting date will now probably be in November due to the large amount of events that have been happening in the Parish recently.
8. Other Parish Groups
Premises - It was suggested that drawings of the proposed folding doors be presented to the Parish prior to any final decision being made. A budget and timetable is to be drawn up.
Justice - Tradecraft hope to sell at the Parish Day.
9. Date of Next Meeting
