By arrangement with the Priests. Six months notice is required by the Bishop. Pre-Marriage Preparation Courses are essential for marriage and are led by our team of marriage catechists here at St Joseph's.

In addition to our own 4 week course, couples may wish to consider going on an Engaged Encounter weekend. Engaged Encounter is part of the world-wide Marriage Encounter Movement which is active in almost 100 countries.

An Engaged Encounter weekend is designed to give couples the chance to talk openly about their expectations and attitudes in such areas as work, money, children, in-laws, sex, leisure time, church and so on. The focus of the weekend is on growth in relationship through communication as a couple. It is not a retreat and there are no group discussions. The only time everyone is asked to speak out loud is to introduce themselves on the Friday evening. More details available from the Parish Office.
